General Studio Questions

Each piece is priced individually based on varying factors. The price of each piece is an all inclusive price that includes the price of pottery, the glazes, and the firing of your pieces.

We don’t allow food or drinks in the studio during open studio hours.

Here you have the option to reserve a table via our website, by email, or by phone. We also accept walk-ins if there is space and time. 

Our last seating for pottery painting is at 4pm

The main activity we offer here is pottery painting. Throughout the month we do have different events and classes where we explore other types of art like clay sculpting and canvas painting, as well as focus on bisque painting techniques, the minimum age for a party is 6 years old. Yes, this is a great activity for kids. Pottery painting is an extremely forgiving as well as an easy to grasp art form that can be engaging for kids of all ages.

Yes, this is a great activity for beginners. Our staff is always here to help guide and support artists through the painting process.

We have a wide variety of pieces that are available to paint. Some of the categories include, Flatware, Mugs, Planters, Figurines, Boxes, Home Decor, Seasonal, and Bowls. 

Yes! We encourage guests to use the parklet anytime you’re visiting the studio. It is a great space for refreshments, food, or convening before or after your time painting at the studio. We can provide a few tables and chairs that can be brought outside in a self service manner. We recommend bringing a trashbag for easy clean up at the end.

Yes, we have a bathroom that is available for guests to use.

No, we do not fire outside clay in our kilns. If you are interested in clay sculpting, we sell clay here that we can fire in our kiln.

Yes, well behaved pets are welcome in our studio.

About Painting

You can paint as much or as little as you like, since the whole piece is covered in an over-glaze after you paint it.

All the glazes we use are food safe and nontoxic. Once fired, your pieces are safe to eat and drink from.

Yes, you can if you like to. When firing we sit the pieces on stilts, so painting the bottom is not a problem at all.

You can write your name on your piece if you like, but it is not necessary.

Our painting sessions are 2 hours long. That is generally the amount of time it takes for adults to begin and finish painting. Children typically finish painting a lot quicker. It generally takes them about 1 hour. 

No, we do not fire outside bisque in our kilns.

Our pieces are low fire earthenware, which is cooked to 1850°F.

After Painting

After you are done painting your piece, it will typically be ready in 2 weeks.

On the top of each receipt we write the date that it will be ready and available for pickup. You can go by that date when planning to pick up your piece.

No, we will let you know when you pay what the pick up date is. We will also write it down as a reminder on the top of the receipt.

Sometimes there is a delay with your pottery. We will send you an email if that happens.

We will be responsible for your items for 30 days from the pick-up date. Please pick up your piece within that 30 day period.

No, we do not ship or deliver. If you are unable to pick up your piece, you can appoint someone else to pick it up for you.

We don’t recommend putting your pieces in the dishwasher or microwave. Handwashing your pieces will help preserve their lifespan.
